All meetings are held in the library at H. Guy Child Elementary.

Community Council Meeting held February 9, 2017.

Discussed the school improvement plan changes for next year as follows:

Four plans were proposed, two of which were agreeable with all council members. The principal will choose one of the two plans that will best meet the needs of the school. The plans that were chosen are as follows:

Plan A:

· 30 minute modified FAME rotation used for PLC time.

· Chromebooks purchased

Plan B:

· Teachers can choose to teach FAME instruction in their classroom (FAME will not be funded).

· A 2-hour ELA aide to help with small-group instruction

· Chromebooks purchased

· 3 projectors purchased.

The Trust Land money pays for aide time, a computer instructor, a math tutor and FAME. Any left over money is used for the STEM program or professional development.

The projectors in the school were all put in about the same time and are now breaking down. The school has to find money to replace the projectors. The school is also looking at purchasing another set of Chromebooks.

A copy of the School Improvement Plan was handed to each member of the council. Discussion about the four goals and if it could be shorten to two goals combine two of the goals.

Members need to view a video on school trust lands

The next meeting held will be on Feb 9th and a person will come to train us on digital citizenship.

Amendment B on the ballot this November if passed will give schools more money from the School Trust Lands.

Future meetings: February 9th and March 30th at 3:45 p.m.
