Let’s take a moment to THANK all the amazing people who help keep our students safe every day — especially our awesome school bus drivers and dedicated crossing guards! 💛🛑👮♀️
The greatest risk for our Chargers is approaching or leaving the bus. Help your student stay safe in the "Danger Zone" by practicing this rule:
Stand 5 giant steps back from the curb while waiting for the bus, and always walk at least 5 giant steps in front of the bus when crossing the street. This makes sure the driver can see you! 👀

A friendly but important reminder: Registration is expected to fill up extremely fast (within hours!). If you intend to sign up, please be prepared to register as soon as it opens!

Coat & Food Packet Sign-Up for Chargers! ⚡️
We're offering coats and take-home, gallon-sized food packets to any H. Guy Child student in need! We believe in warming hearts and bellies in our community.
If you would like your student to receive a coat and/or a food packet, please go to hguychild.wsd.net and click on "Parents" on the menu. Click on "Coats & Food Packets" to fill out the request form.
Huge shout-out to Mrs. Cornia's 1st grade class! They earned their Class Charger Cheer Reward and chose the BEST prize: a pizza lunch with Mr. Adams! Look at those happy faces! We love seeing our Chargers celebrating great work. Way to go, everyone!

’Twas the weekend before school starts, and all through the school,
Not a student was stirring, the hallways were cool.
The classrooms were tidy, the floors shining bright,
All ready for children arriving at light.
The crayons were nestled all snug in their bins,
The markers and scissors tucked neatly within.
The books in the library stood tall on their shelves,
Arranged in neat rows by some hardworking elves.
When out in the hallway there rose such a sound,
The custodian’s vacuum was making its round.
The teachers were busy with bulletin boards,
Pinning up letters and bright cardboard chords.
The lunch trays were stacked in the cafeteria with care,
In hopes that hungry students soon would be there.
The gym floor was polished, the jump ropes were hung,
The playground lay quiet, no laughter had sprung.
The principal checked his long list once again,
“Tomorrow,” he whispered, “our new year begins!”
From K to sixth grade, excitement would grow,
With lessons and friendships and much to bestow.
And so through the school, not a sound, not a peep,
The building was waiting while children did sleep.
And all of the teachers, with hearts full of cheer,
Whispered, “Happy First Day, and a wonderful year!”
